These terms govern your use of o30m Academy. By creating an account or using the course, you agree to them. This draft is published for owner and legal review; the service is operated from Maharashtra, India.
Governing law and jurisdiction
These terms and any dispute arising from your use of the service are governed by the laws of India, including the Information Technology Act, 2000, and the Digital Personal Data Protection Act, 2023. The courts at Maharashtra have exclusive jurisdiction over such disputes.
1. The service
o30m Academy provides a free, self-paced, text-based course in adversary emulation. Access requires a Google account. The course is delivered online; no physical materials are supplied.
2. Accounts
- You must sign in with a Google account you are entitled to use.
- You are responsible for activity under your account.
- Do not share your account or attempt to access another learner's records.
- We may suspend access to protect the service, other learners, or the law.
3. Acceptable use
The course teaches offensive-security engineering. You may use the material only for lawful, authorized purposes. Your use of the site must also comply with the Information Technology Act, 2000, including its provisions on unauthorized access, computer-related offences, and intermediary obligations. In particular, you must not:
- Use any technique against a system you do not own or have explicit written permission to test.
- Attempt to break, overload, scrape, or bypass the site's authentication, progression, or rate limits.
- Upload or transmit malware, or use the course to cause harm.
- Harass other learners, staff, or third parties.
- Infringe intellectual-property rights or misrepresent another person's work as your own.
4. Educational content and risk
The content is provided for education. It may describe dual-use tools and techniques. You are solely responsible for how you apply it and for complying with the law in your jurisdiction. The course does not grant permission to test any third-party system.
The material is provided "as is" without warranties of any kind, to the extent permitted by law. We do not warrant that the course is complete, current, or suitable for a particular purpose.
5. Progression and assessments
- Lesson checkpoints require a perfect score to unlock the next lesson.
- Module assessments require 80% to unlock the next module.
- Retries are unlimited with a 30-second cooldown between attempts.
- Progress and scores are recorded on the server. Client-side changes do not alter completion.
- Completed content remains available for review.
6. Final assignment and certificates
After all ten modules are complete, the final assignment instructions become available. You submit your original work by email for manual review. Completing the online course makes you eligible to submit; it does not guarantee that the assignment will be approved or that a certificate will be issued. The evaluator decides whether to approve the submission or request changes.
The site does not automatically generate, sign, verify, or issue certificates. Any certificate decision is made outside the website.
7. Your submissions
You retain ownership of the work you submit. By submitting it, you give the reviewer permission to read, assess, and discuss it for evaluation. Do not submit confidential information, third-party material you cannot share, or work that is not yours.
8. Intellectual property
The course is adapted from a monograph by Bhavesh M. Dhake. The course text, source listings, and design are protected by applicable intellectual-property law. All rights remain with their respective owners. No licence to redistribute, republish, or sell the material is granted. You may read and study it for personal learning.
9. Availability and changes
We may change, suspend, or discontinue parts of the service. We do not promise uninterrupted availability. We may update these terms; the date at the top records the latest revision. Continued use after a change means you accept the updated terms.
10. Limitation of liability
To the extent permitted by law, o30m Academy and its operators are not liable for indirect, incidental, special, or consequential damages arising from your use of the course or from any technique you apply. Nothing in these terms excludes liability that cannot lawfully be excluded.
